Evo Morales to
inaugurate medical
office in La Higuera and a Diagnostic center donated
by Cuba in Valle Grande
ON the 78th anniversary today of the birth of
Ernesto Che Guevara, Evo Morales, president of
Bolivia, is to inaugurate a medical office in La
Higuera, to be run by Cuban doctors, and present
their literacy diplomas to 17 inhabitants in that
area who learnt to read and write via the "Yes, I
Can Do It" Cuban literacy method.
Previously, at 1:00 p.m., another site linked to
Che, an Integral Diagnostic Center donated to
Bolivia by our country, is to be opened.
A Cuban delegation including Dr. Jorge González,
rector of the Havana Higher Institute of Medical
Science and head of the research team that uncovered
the remains of Che and his compañeros; and
Camilo Guevara, son of the heroic guerrilla will be
present at both events.
Given the technical complexity of the
transmissions that makes it impossible to receive
both events via satellite, at 6:00 p.m. Cubavisión,
the Education Channel, Cubavisón International,
Radio Rebelde and Radio Habana Cuba will transmit
the historical ceremony in La Higuera, the place
where Che was killed.
This transmission will be facilitated by the
joint efforts of the Cuban Radio and Television
Institute (ICRT), Telesur and Bolivian Television’s
Channel 7.
