Russian Prime Minister begins
official visit

the invitation of the Cuban government, Mikhail
Efimovich Fradkov, President of the Russian
Federation, arrived in Havana today, September 27.
Fradkov is accompanied by an important delegation
that includes Grigori Elkin, co-president of the
Russia-Cuba Inter-Governmental Commission; Boris
Alioshin, head of the Russian Federal Industry
Agency; and other officials, along with a broad
representation of the Russian business community,
which will participate in the International
Transportation Fair and the Cuba-Russia Business
Committee to run in parallel in Havana.
This
visit, the first for Fradkov as president of the
Russian Federation, will facilitate a review of the
current state of relations between both countries as
well as the identification of new areas for
amplifying and strengthening cooperation.
Mikhail Fradkov and his accompanying delegation are
to meet with Raúl Castro Ruz, first vice president
of the Council of State and Ministers, and will
visit sites of socio-economic and scientific
interest.
During the visit, important intergovernmental
agreements will be signed that will fortify economic
and cooperative relations between the two countries.
