Bolivia receives resources for
reconstruction
LA
PAZ, March 6 (PL) —. The Bolivian government has
received foreign economic assistance worth $57.6
million, which it will use for rebuilding the
regions impacted by the El Niño climate phenomenon,
according to official sources.
These resources come from international agencies and
friendly nations, according to Gonzalo Lora,
director of Civil Defense Emergency Services, quoted
by the daily El Deber.
The
official said that $57.6 million would come from the
Andean Promotion Fund (CAF), an agency that has
already lent $15 million for reconstruction and
emergency projects.
Likewise, another $21 million in CAF funds is in the
pipeline, and will be used for reconstruction in
specific areas, Lora says.
Donated resources came from Venezuela, Canada,
Spain, Italy, Holland, France, Denmark, Germany and
Japan, and agencies like the CAF, UNDP, OEA, BID and
WFP, among others.
In
addition, it was learned that the Civil Defense and
the Emergency Operations Center were preparing a
large camp on the Trinidad fairgrounds for providing
essential services to about 1,200 families.
