Day
of violence in Iraq: more than 100 dead and 150
injured
BAGHDAD, March 6.—In one of the
most bloody days since the U.S. occupation of Iraq,
this Tuesday was the scene of various acts of
violence resulting in the death of more than 100
Iraqis.
|

Iraqi blood is still being
spilled in the occupied Arab country. |
AP also reported today that a
number of U.S. troops died north of Baghdad.
In Hilla, to the south, a few
kilometers from the remains of Babylon, two suicide
bombers attacked a crowd of pilgrims on their way to
Kerbala, scene of the execution of the Inman
Hussein, father of the Shiite school of Islam.
This weekend the pilgrims
complete the 40 days of mourning in memory of the
grandson of the Prophet Mohammed, killed in the
Kerbala desert in 680 AD.
Preliminary reports give the
figure of 93 dead and 150 injured, but the
circumstances of the attacks indicate that the death
toll is in excess of 100, and that of people injured
could increase.
